A business strategist and finance expert has called on Nigerian small businesses and startups to focus on building strong internal structures before chasing external funding. Speaking at the Lagos launch of his new book Beyond Access to Capital, Ogunje highlighted that many SMEs in Nigeria fail not due to lack of funds, but because of weak business systems and poor management.
He explained that while funding is important, it is only effective when backed by proper structures in operations, marketing, and finance. "Even with millions in funding, a business without structure can collapse," Ogunje warned.
