The group's coordinator, Mr. Alabi Adesola, said that relying on seaports could generate over 100,000 jobs, raise tax revenue, and strengthen the naira. He stressed that unchecked smuggling at land borders has flooded Nigerian markets with foreign goods—such as rice, oil, sugar, and tomato paste—hurting SMEs, reducing tax collection, and exposing citizens to substandard products.
