Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity firm, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to help small businesses strengthen their digital safety.
The partnership will deliver training programmes, awareness campaigns, and practical tools to protect SMEs from cyber risks such as phishing, malware, and online scams.
Chris Norton, Kaspersky's GM for Sub-Saharan Africa, noted that entrepreneurs are easy targets as they juggle multiple roles without cybersecurity expertise. "Our aim is to equip them with best practices to stay safer online," he said.

SMEDAN DG Charles Odii added that digital adoption among SMEs surged after the COVID-19 pandemic, exposing them to new risks. "This collaboration will help business owners secure their online operations as they embrace the digital economy," he stated.
The move aligns with SMEDAN's mission of supporting SMEs across industries, while Kaspersky extends its continental drive to safeguard vulnerable businesses in the digital space.
