Nigeria's push for indigenous manufacturing has received a boost as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, toured the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) facilities in Abuja.
During the August 11 visit, Oduwole inspected the NASENI Innovation Hub, Abuja Technology Village site, TROMENT vaccine plant, and Idu Technology Park.
She praised the agency's progress under Executive Vice Chairman, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, noting its alignment with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda to diversify the economy through local production.

Highlighting NASENI's role in creating globally competitive products and supporting young innovators, the Minister assured improved ease of doing business, wider market access, and better financing to scale operations.
Halilu said NASENI's strategy leverages local materials to produce export-quality goods, positioning Nigeria to benefit from the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The visit was part of efforts to accelerate the Nigeria First Policy, fostering domestic manufacturing, job creation, and export expansion. The Minister also called for supportive legislation, trade agreements, and international partnerships to strengthen research, protect investors, and attract both local and foreign investment.
