Speaking after his election as Vice Chairman of the Africa/Middle East Regional Committee (AMERC) of IOSCO, Agama outlined plans to introduce stablecoin rules, frameworks for tokenized securities, and stronger investor protection. Read also: He pledged reforms to expand SME listings, cut costs, and boost cross-border linkages, alongside market-making schemes to improve liquidity. His vision also includes pension fund reforms to channel domestic savings into productive investments, fintech sandboxes for youth innovators, and regional capital market literacy drives. Agama said new AMERC initiatives will feature a Listings Growth Initiative for SMEs, a cross-border settlement system, and a Digital Assets Working Group to position the region for inclusive growth and job creation. | | | |
