The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has spotlighted Nigeria's bold digital vision on the global stage.
Sharing the update on its X official handle, the agency revealed that its Director General, Kashifu Inuwa, led a high-level discussion at the 80th United Nations General Assembly (#UNGA80) on the theme "Tech is Infrastructure", hosted by HERitage House.
Inuwa outlined Nigeria's AI Readiness Plan, built on trusted, culturally reflective data, strong computing and storage capacity, and bias-free algorithms.

He highlighted Project BRIDGE, a landmark initiative deploying 90,000 km of fibre-optic cable to ensure nationwide internet access and close the digital divide.
Key milestones announced include the National Sovereign Cloud Initiative (NSCI) to secure digital independence and N-ATLAS, Nigeria's first multilingual AI model, developed through a co-creation policy framework.
NITDA called on global investors and partners to tap into Nigeria's thriving digital infrastructure sector, describing it as a fertile ground for innovation and long-term growth.
