Kora has hosted the second edition of its flagship event, Sundown Sessions, themed "AI in Africa: Scaling Beyond the Hype," bringing together over 400 entrepreneurs, creatives, and tech leaders in Lagos to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming Africa's economy and innovation landscape.
The evening featured a fireside chat with Ifeanyi Nwunne, Creative Director at I.N Official, and Yinka Ash, CEO of Ashcorp Group, moderated by Dickson Nsofor, Kora's CEO. The speakers highlighted how AI is redefining creativity and consumer engagement across industries.
A panel session on "How Will AI Reshape Business Models in Africa" featured Somtochukwu Ifezue (PiggyVest), Onyinye Olisah (Onus Financial Services), Buchi Okoro (Quidax), Frank Atat, and Ugodre Obi-Chukwu (Nairametrics). The discussion focused on AI's impact on finance, agriculture, and media, emphasising responsible adoption and the continued value of human creativity.
The keynote speaker, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, Founding Partner at Future Africa, urged innovators to expand beyond fintech, noting that Africa's progress depends on stronger digital infrastructure.
