The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women in agriculture, ensuring gender equality and boosting food security.
State Project Coordinator for the Kwara Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Project, Engr. Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka, highlighted this at a sensitization workshop in Okuta, Baruteen LGA. Speaking through Engr. Dr. Ezekiel Olanrewaju Ariyo, he praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for recognizing women's role in agriculture.

The workshop, organized by the Agency for Women's Agricultural Cooperatives and Women's SMEs, focused on Climate-Smart Agricultural Technology. Facilitator Mr. Gbadebo Elebiyo outlined various ways farmers can adapt to climate change.
Women farmers expressed gratitude for the initiative, with Deaconess Esther Bello and Olayemi Olaitan from Baruteen LGA commending the administration for supporting rural farmers. They, however, urged the government to provide further assistance.
