In a bid to modernise livestock farming and tackle climate challenges, the Adamawa State Ministry of Livestock and Aquaculture Development has commenced training for 120 farmers, in partnership with the World Bank-backed Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) project.
The training, held in Yola, focuses on climate-smart livestock management and the adoption of digital tools such as smartphones to monitor climate impact.
Commissioner Tijjani Marksha, represented by Malam Suleiman Mohammed, praised L-PRES for its transformative impact, noting that this is the eighth workshop held in the year.

State L-PRES Coordinator, Alfa Secondee, stressed the importance of continuous training to meet key development targets, while lead facilitator Dr Ibrahim Bayaso urged participants to shift from traditional practices to sustainable methods that protect the environment.
Participants include local farmers and Divisional Livestock Officers from all LGAs. Mrs Glandu Sajo, a DLO from Fufore, described the training as "life-changing," promising improved productivity and better climate adaptation strategies.
