Nigeria exported 197 products valued at $1.791 billion to 96 countries in the first quarter of 2025, according to Nonye Ayeni, Executive Director/CEO of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
She made this known at the graduation of the 2021 Class of the Level 4 Diploma in International Trade in Abuja, organised in partnership with ITC and the UK's Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade.
Ayeni highlighted the UK as a key export destination for items such as aluminium ingots, pet flakes, soya bean meal, and foodstuffs.

She encouraged graduates to tap into the UK's Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS), which removes tariffs on select Nigerian products like sesame, fertiliser, and plantain.
She also emphasised NEPC's Export Mentorship Programme, which has trained 2,423 mentees to date, aligning with the council's goal of building a new generation of export-ready entrepreneurs.
Calling for deeper collaboration with global trade partners, Ayeni praised the ITC and CIE&IT for their role in strengthening Nigeria's non-oil export capacity, particularly in light of AfCFTA.
