President of the Nigerian-Turkish Business Council, Dele Kelvin Oye, has urged stakeholders to provide greater backing for women- and youth-driven enterprises in Nigeria, describing them as essential to achieving inclusive economic growth and sustainable national development.
Speaking in Owerri, Imo State, at the Youth and Women Day event hosted by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to mark its 25th anniversary, Oye emphasized the importance of multi-sector collaboration to unlock new opportunities in trade, technology, and education for women and young people.
In his keynote address, Oye—also a former NACCIMA president and ex-chair of the Organized Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN)—advocated for policies at both federal and state levels that enhance access to capital, support innovation hubs, and foster skill-building initiatives tailored to the needs of youth and women.

He highlighted Nigeria's growing partnerships with Türkiye and other international allies, which aim to facilitate trade, education, and investment. According to him, these alliances are focused on ensuring grassroots entrepreneurs benefit through technology transfer, capacity development, and bilateral trade initiatives.
Oye stressed that long-term economic progress relies on deliberate strategies to advance gender inclusion and youth participation. He called for an expansion of the NDDC's empowerment programmes to deepen their impact and reach across the region.
