Action Against Hunger (ACF), in collaboration with national and regional partners, has launched a new cross-border initiative aimed at improving pastoral livelihoods and livestock trade across Nigeria, Cameroon, and Chad.
The project, Pastoralism and Livestock Marketing in Cameroon, Nigeria, Chad Cross-Border Territories (PASCO), was unveiled during a national workshop in Yola. It will run for four years, targeting agro-pastoral communities and enhancing market access for livestock producers, particularly women, youth, and vulnerable groups.
According to Mr. Thierno Diallo, ACF Nigeria Country Director, the project will strengthen value chains, create market linkages, and improve economic resilience in the Lake Chad Basin. Represented by Mr. Emmanuel Pmabi, Diallo said PASCO also focuses on sustainable natural resource management and inclusive governance in border communities.
