The funds were distributed under various components of the national social protection scheme, which include conditional cash transfers, livelihood support, and basic income grants. The scheme prioritizes households with women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.
Dr. Sununu emphasized that this disbursement aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty through targeted interventions, empowerment programs, and digital payment systems for transparency.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the program, with the goal of reaching even more households and ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind in the nation's development journey.
