A six-month vocational training programme for 60 youths from six host communities in Sokoto State has been launched to boost local capacity and create employment opportunities.
The initiative will train participants in the operation, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty machinery, including excavators and tippers. Trainees will receive a ₦150,000 monthly allowance and formal certification upon completion, qualifying them for roles in the cement industry and beyond.

Managing Director/CEO Yusuf Binji, represented by Plant Director Aminu Bashir, said the programme is part of a corporate social responsibility drive to foster sustainable youth empowerment.
Director of Human Resources, Abdulrasheed Bode, noted that the training is designed to equip young people with practical skills to secure jobs or start their own ventures, thereby strengthening the local economy.
One participant, Muhammad Bello, described the programme as life-changing, commending the organisers' commitment to community development.
