Vice President Kashim Shettima made the call in Abuja at the FRSC's 8th Annual Lecture Series, warning that the latest statistics on road traffic deaths remain alarming. He noted that the rising accidents not only claim lives but also disrupt supply chains, transport services, and small and medium-sized enterprises that depend on safe road networks. Read also, Shettima emphasised that SMEs, transport operators, and traders who move goods across the country suffer major losses from unsafe roads, further weakening economic growth. He said government agencies must take stronger measures to reverse the trend. The Vice President urged the FRSC and partners to intensify awareness campaigns, enforce compliance, and upgrade infrastructure, assuring that safer highways will reduce risks, lower costs for businesses, and strengthen economic activities nationwide. | | | |
