Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, on Wednesday hosted a delegation of Russian businessmen in Minna, reaffirming the state's growing global partnerships in agriculture and mining.
The team, led by Mr. Peter Arseniev, Commercial Attaché of the Russian Trade Commission, included representatives from Sber Bank of Russia, Rostselmash, equipment manufacturers, and other strategic partners. Their visit followed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier signed with the Niger State government to unlock investment opportunities.
Governor Bago hailed the delegation's mission as a strong signal of commitment, stressing that his investment drive in Russia is beginning to deliver concrete results. He described the engagement as the start of a prosperous future for the state.

Chairman of Niger Foods, Sammy Adigun, disclosed that the investors toured farms across the state, where they witnessed vast arable land and water resources suitable for large-scale farming.
Members of the Russian team expressed optimism, describing their experience in Niger as "exciting, interesting, and fruitful," while noting the state's readiness for foreign partnership.
The visit is expected to strengthen agricultural mechanization, boost mining ventures, and open up fresh opportunities for small businesses in the state's value chains.
