The project is expected to transform regional trade flows and create fresh opportunities for small and medium enterprises. For years SMEs in states along the corridor have faced high transport costs and unreliable logistics that weakened their competitiveness. The upgrade will restore access to seaports and open faster links to markets across Rivers Abia Enugu Benue Kogi Plateau Bauchi Gombe Yobe and Borno. Manufacturers traders and farmers are set to benefit from reduced haulage costs and improved speed in moving cement steel farm produce and petroleum products. Small scale miners and agribusinesses will gain easier entry to storage hubs and new buyers.
