The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) in partnership with the Presidential Implementation Committee on Technology Transfer (PICTT) has awarded N229 million in grants to 14 female engineers under the Developing Engineering Leaders Through Her (DELT-Her 2.0) initiative. The programme aims to strengthen women's participation in science, technology, and innovation while driving inclusive national development.
Out of 9,925 project proposals, the 14 selected awardees will advance solutions across agriculture, clean energy, health, mobility, digital security, and environmental sustainability. NASENI's Executive Vice Chairman, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, said the initiative reflects the agency's commitment to gender inclusion and local innovation, adding that DELT-Her represents a platform where women can turn bold engineering ideas into solutions that change the world.

Since its inception, DELT-Her has trained and mentored over 150 girls across five states, expanding from an initial six awardees in 2024 to a nationwide impact in 2025. The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes technological diversification and female empowerment in STEM fields.
Stakeholders, including the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Udoka, lauded the programme as a catalyst for sustainable growth. They reaffirmed the government's commitment to policies that promote inclusive innovation, local content development, and women-led engineering enterprises, ensuring more MSMEs led by women thrive in Nigeria's growing technology ecosystem.
