The Oyo State Government has taken a major step toward boosting agro-industrialisation by unveiling a new line of export-ready, value-added food products. The initiative is designed to strengthen the state's position in both regional and continental trade.
The launch event, held at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives in Ibadan, was organised by the Agricultural Exporting Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative Society. It brought together key players in the agricultural and export sectors.
Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Adeniyi Adebisi (represented by Permanent Secretary Mamud Okesade), announced plans to set up a Directorate of Quality Control to ensure all export products meet international standards. He also called for reforms in cooperative structures to meet current business realities and attract investor interest.
In a move to further support export development, the government also inaugurated a new Board of Directors for the Association of Nigeria Cooperative Exporters Limited (ANCE). The commissioner encouraged the board to foster unity and transparency to maximize export opportunities.

New ANCE President Kola Olomoyoyo promised to continue the cooperative's export growth efforts, especially in cocoa and palm kernel, while also expanding into livestock feed and bottled water production.
This initiative reflects Oyo State's broader commitment to positioning itself as a hub for agro-industrial and export-led economic growth.
