Small and medium-sized businesses in Nigeria are set to gain from a new partnership between the Federal Government and the Godwin Aigboviose Foundation Africa (GAF), aimed at unlocking funding and investment for climate-smart and tech-driven projects.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) confirmed support for the initiative, which will feature at the upcoming S.O.F.T. (Sustainability, Opportunity, Future, Technologies) Conference in Dubai this July. The event will serve as a platform to connect Nigerian SMEs, innovators, and young entrepreneurs with global investors and diaspora professionals.
According to GAF Chairman Dr. Godwin Aigboiose Omage, the conference will spotlight Africa's business potential and promote investment in key sectors such as renewable energy, fintech, AI, and agritech. The goal is to drive inclusive economic growth through public-private partnerships and digital innovation.

NiDCOM Chair Abike Dabiri-Erewa described the collaboration as a timely opportunity to engage the diaspora in supporting Nigeria's development through sustainable and scalable business ventures.
For Nigerian SMEs, the conference presents a chance to tap into new funding pipelines, international networks, and policy support, particularly in areas aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The initiative is expected to drive entrepreneurship, boost job creation, and strengthen Nigeria's position in the global innovation economy.
