Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, has urged policymakers to dismantle barriers limiting youth and women participation in agribusiness.
Speaking at an AfDB high-level dialogue in Abuja, Olaopa praised the bank's efforts, noting that access to finance, resources, and knowledge must be broadened for Nigeria to benefit meaningfully from agribusiness.
"Without policy-driven de-risking mechanisms, banks will remain reluctant to lend to young agripreneurs," he said. He also stressed the need for innovation grants and mentorship opportunities to grow youth-led ventures.
