The Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP) has signed a $12.3 million amended agreement with Sasakawa Africa Association to supply modern agricultural machinery aimed at boosting mechanised farming for smallholder farmers.
The new deal includes the procurement of tractors, combine harvesters, planters, boom sprayers, rice milling machines, onion storage technology, and solar-powered water pumps to enhance land preparation, planting, and harvesting across the state.
KSADP State Coordinator, Ibrahim Muhammad, said the move will reduce post-harvest losses and improve precision farming among small-scale farmers. The project is co-funded by the Islamic Development Bank, the Lives and Livelihoods Fund, and the Kano State Government.
