Nigeria and Israel have agreed to strengthen bilateral relations in ways that will create new opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across multiple sectors.
During a meeting in Abuja between Nigeria's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, and her Israeli counterpart, Sharren Miriam Haskel-Harpaz, both nations committed to deeper collaboration in trade, agriculture, health, education, technology, and entertainment.
A joint commission will be established to drive these initiatives, providing a structured platform for sustained cooperation.Israel, which currently has a trade volume of $250 million with Nigeria, expressed readiness to expand economic ties, offering Nigerian entrepreneurs access to new markets, investment opportunities, and capacity-building programmes.

The collaboration also includes intelligence sharing and counter-terrorism measures aimed at ensuring a secure business environment.
Ojukwu noted that the partnership aligns with Nigeria's goal of leveraging global alliances to foster innovation and inclusive growth, particularly for SMEs in high-potential industries.
With the joint commission set to begin work soon, both countries aim to unlock value chains that will benefit small businesses, from agritech startups to creative industry producers.
