Nigeria's young entrepreneurs and innovators have been celebrated as key drivers of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) growth during International Youth Day 2024, themed "Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond." The focus was on turning youth potential into tangible economic impact through creativity, innovation, and capacity-building initiatives.
Speaking at the commemoration, industry leaders emphasised that achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires actively integrating young people into community-level initiatives that encourage entrepreneurship.
Platforms such as the Ijebu Heritage Half Marathon, automotive showcases like Fanfaro and TOR'Q Autofest, and music talent development through Nigerian Idol have provided mentorship, visibility, and enterprise opportunities for youth nationwide.

The celebration also highlighted the role of private sector investment in youth development, with companies in the FMCG industry receiving recognition for quality and innovation. Diverse product lines and market leadership continue to set benchmarks that inspire young entrepreneurs in the sector.
