The Kenyan government has unveiled plans to boost digital content creators with financial support, infrastructure, and strategic partnerships to help them grow businesses and create jobs.
Principal Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy, Eng. John Tanui, said the initiative will provide creators with access to funding, grants, and resources to scale in the digital economy.
"We are working with other ministries and partners to unlock additional funding that can help expand the sector," Tanui noted.

The government has also partnered with META to ensure creators can monetize their work while gaining access to infrastructure through digital hubs being established nationwide. With support from South Korea, Kenya is building its largest digital media hub at KONZA under the Concert Digital Media Facility.
Tanui added that digital hubs and centres of excellence are being rolled out in every county and ward to give young people access to internet, devices, and training.
Content creators, including Diana Yegon, lauded the move, describing it as the first time their work is being recognized as a viable full-time career.
