The Nigeria Employers' Consultative Association (NECA) joined other leading business bodies at a high-level continental summit hosted by the Federation of Kenya Employers, BUSINESSAfrica Employers' Confederation, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the International Organization of Employers (IOE).
Billed as Africa's biggest employer and investment platform, the summit is focused on driving business growth and harnessing the digital economy.
NECA President, Dr. Ifeanyi Okoye, urged African businesses—particularly SMEs—to embrace innovation to stay competitive. Director-General Adewale Smatt-Oyerinde further stressed that digital skills and enterprise sustainability are critical to future growth.
Opening discussions highlighted the role of vocational training, SME-friendly policies, and Africa's comparative advantages in unlocking opportunities within the platform economy.
Distinguished attendees included Kenya's Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, ILO Director-General Gilbert Houngbo, and IOE President Jacqueline Mugo.
