The Federal Government, in collaboration with the Open Government Partnership (OGP), has reaffirmed its commitment to creating career opportunities for Nigerian youth in governance, public policy, and civic innovation.
During a high-level engagement with civil society and OGP representatives, Minister of Youth Development and OGP Co-Chair, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, emphasized the need to equip young Nigerians with values-driven leadership skills and career exposure in governance.
He highlighted ongoing efforts to engage youth through policy development, accountability programs, and mentorship, noting that civic responsibility and ethical leadership are crucial for building future-ready public servants and change-makers.

Incoming OGP Co-Chair, Mr. Soji Apampa, also stressed the importance of transitioning youth from activism to structured leadership roles in public service, governance-tech, and policy reform spaces.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to open up more career development pathways for Nigerian youth in governance—through internships, fellowships, civic-tech programs, and national service partnerships—ensuring a new generation of skilled, ethical, and impactful leaders.
