In a significant step towards industrialization and agricultural value chain development, Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang on Tuesday commissioned the state-of-the-art maize milling plant of Benybite Foods Nigeria Limited in Jos.
The commissioning marks a major milestone in Governor Mutfwang's commitment to driving agro-processing, job creation, and economic growth.
He reiterated his administration's resolve to revive struggling industries and establish Plateau as a hub for agro-industrial activities. "Our goal is to make Plateau a business hub for ventures like this. Once we meet local demand, we can expand beyond the state and even beyond the country," Governor Mutfwang stated.
He lauded Benybite Foods Nigeria Ltd. for their substantial investment, calling it a "catalyst for economic transformation" and assuring the company of ongoing government support.
The Governor also stressed his administration's commitment to ensuring stable electricity and improved transportation networks, vital for industrial growth.

He expressed optimism that the newly formed Plateau Energy Commission and State Energy Corporation would deliver sustainable power solutions.
Mr. Benjamin Kayode-Ojo, Managing Director and CEO of Benybite Foods Nigeria Limited, described the facility as the largest of its kind in Plateau and the second most advanced food processing plant in Nigeria.
The plant boasts a monthly milling capacity of 6,000 tons of maize and can clean over 10,000 tons. Built with stainless steel technology, it aims to be a key supplier of raw materials to breweries and other food and beverage industries nationwide, envisioning Plateau as a national raw materials hub.
Kayode-Ojo praised Governor Mutfwang's support, noting that the project was completed in just six months, thanks to local expertise.
