Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has said that his administration's transformation agenda is anchored on creating opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). He made this known while speaking at the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Enugu.
The governor explained that his government's plan to grow Enugu's economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion is tied to supporting local businesses. He said that SMEs are central to job creation, poverty reduction, and turning Enugu into a preferred destination for business and tourism.
According to him, security has been a key enabler for enterprise growth. With AI-powered surveillance, integrated response units, and community collaboration, the state has recorded over 80 percent reduction in violent crime, giving SMEs a safer environment to thrive.
