The Federal Government has announced the Nigerian Data Exchange Platform (NGDX), a landmark initiative set to transform digital services and unlock fresh opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
NGDX is designed to enable secure and seamless data sharing across government and business, fostering innovation, collaboration, and inclusive economic growth. It will deliver smarter, faster services to citizens, under a framework built on privacy, security, and accountability.
Drawing lessons from how interoperability revolutionised financial services through NIBSS, NGDX will extend similar benefits across the broader economy, empowering SMEs to leverage digital infrastructure for growth and competitiveness.
At a workshop convened by the European Union in Nigeria, with contributions from Finland and Estonia, stakeholders reaffirmed their support for the initiative. With a target launch date set for the end of 2025, NGDX marks a bold step into Nigeria's digital future.
