Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has launched 50 luxury 18-seater buses for the Zamfara State Transport Company, a move expected to ease mobility for small businesses and strengthen the state's economy.
The modern buses, equipped with air-conditioning, safety features, and GPS tracking, will provide affordable and reliable transport for traders, artisans, and farmers moving goods and services across the state.
Governor Lawal said the delay in deploying the buses was intentional, as his administration first established proper management systems and trained staff to ensure efficiency and accountability.

He noted that effective transport is critical for SMEs to access markets, expand operations, and cut logistics costs. By linking transport reforms to economic empowerment, the Governor described the new buses as both a public service and a catalyst for business growth.
Lawal urged citizens to take ownership of the initiative, stressing that the buses are collective assets that can drive jobs, trade, and inclusive development in Zamfara.
