The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the training of over 21,782 unemployed youths across Nigeria, with 12,462 slated for resettlement by January 2026.
This nationwide effort aims to boost self-reliance and promote small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), particularly in agriculture.
In Oyo State, the Agricultural Credit Corporation, under the Makinde-led administration, continues to support smallholder farmers with single-digit interest loans, targeting increased food production and job creation.
Sheikh Akeugbagold urged beneficiaries to repay loans promptly to sustain the initiative. "Loan repayment is key to keeping this lifeline active for others," he said, adding that defaulting could hinder future access to funding.

Speaking on behalf of the farmers, Mr. Adeboje Samson from Atisbo praised the scheme's impact, noting improved yields and better living conditions. He encouraged fellow beneficiaries to repay their loans to unlock further funding and expand their agribusinesses.
This coordinated effort marks a significant step in empowering rural SMEs and reducing unemployment through agriculture-led development.
