Zubara Global Services Limited has teamed up with Tech for Agriculture and Community Africa Initiative (TAC Africa) to launch the Afri AGRITECH Institute, a new training and empowerment initiative focused on reducing youth unemployment and crime through technology-driven agriculture.
In a joint announcement, both partners described the institute as a strategic effort to use agribusiness and digital tools to equip vulnerable youth with practical skills, foster job creation, and promote peace in communities affected by violence or disaster.
Chief Executive Officer of Zubara Global Services, Promise Chizara, said the project aims to close the gap between economic vulnerability and financial independence for young people, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
"Agriculture isn't just about producing food—it's a pathway to empowerment," Chizara said. "By partnering with TAC Africa, we're transforming agribusiness into a solution for poverty and violence, and a springboard for tech innovation and sustainable livelihoods."

The Afri AGRITECH Institute will focus on four key areas:
- Reducing youth crime through agri-based entrepreneurship
- Equipping youth with agritech and business skills
- Building cooperative-based income systems
- Supporting peacebuilding in at-risk communities
The programme targets youth aged 15–30, women seeking economic inclusion, vulnerable groups, and smallholder farmers looking to modernize their practices.
Activities under the initiative include smart agriculture training bootcamps, access to tech-driven farming tools, establishment of youth-led agritech hubs, and support for cooperative groups.
The partners estimate that the project will help reduce youth-related crime by up to sixfold in the focus areas and generate over 200 agribusiness jobs and 300 agritech roles.
"This is a key milestone in Zubara's mission to build resilient, tech-enabled farming communities through strategic partnerships and impact-driven initiatives," the statement said.
Zubara Farms, a subsidiary of Zubara Global Services, provides agricultural consulting, farm development, cooperative advisory, and youth agribusiness training.
TAC Africa is a nonprofit organisation focused on using technology for peacebuilding, digital empowerment, and community development.
The Afri AGRITECH Institute is expected to serve as a model for using inclusive agritech education to combat unemployment, enhance food systems, and build economically stable local enterprises.
