Ondo State has been commended as a vital contributor to Nigeria's socio-economic growth, particularly through its thriving Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, speaking at the 7th Expanded National MSMEs Clinic in Akure, described MSMEs as the backbone of Nigeria's economy, generating over 90% of jobs and driving national prosperity.
Highlighting Federal Government initiatives, Shettima revealed that 65 Ondo-based MSMEs have accessed funding from the N75 billion intervention fund through the Bank of Industry, positioning the state as a key partner in economic transformation.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa shared that over N220 million in interest-free loans had been disbursed to small business owners through the Ondo State Micro-Credit Agency (ODSMA), while the "One Youth One Skill" initiative has empowered thousands through skills acquisition at OSDEC centres.
Special Adviser to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, Mr. Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, emphasized the clinic's role in connecting entrepreneurs with regulators and support services.
The event drew key stakeholders including the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, and the Ooni of Ife, who called for increased support for local products.
The clinic reinforces Ondo's growing role as an SME-friendly state fostering innovation and inclusive economic growth.
